Michael Jordan Sues Chinese Sportswear Company

Michael Jordan is laying down the law in China after discovering that a company there has been using his name without the proper authorization.

According to a lawsuit filed by the former NBA star, Qiaodan Sports located in the southern Fujian province, has greatly profited by using his Chinese name (Qiaodan) and jersey number without his permission.

“It is deeply disappointing to see a company build a business off my Chinese name without my permission, use the number 23 and even attempt to use the names of my children,” Jordan said in a statement.

But he explained the suit isn’t about the money, it’s about protecting his name.

The lawsuit was filed in a Chinese court.
