Egypt, Russia Discuss Military Cooperation.


30.05.2017-Algiers/ Defense Minister Sedqi Sobhi and Russian Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu on Monday 29/5/2017 discussed means of fostering military cooperation and relations between the two countries. 

 During their meeting in Cairo, the two Defense Ministers took up the situation in the Middle East and the regional and international challenges, topped by terrorism and extremism that threaten the international peace and security. In this regard, Minister   Sobhi praised the Russian stances and efforts to support Egypt in its fight against terrorism and extremism. 

 They tackled aspects of cooperation between the Armed Forces in both countries, especially in the training, arming, exchange of information and qualifying the Egyptian military cadres. 

 For his part, the Russian Defense Minister voiced his appreciation for distinguished relations with Egypt, which have recently seen great progress, particularly in the military field.

 He lauded Egypt’s role in achieving security and stability in the Middle East. 

 Also, the Egyptian and Russian defense ministers held an expanded meeting in the presence of the foreign ministers of both countries.
